Confluence v4 upgrade

We (aka Contegix) are upgrading Confluence to v4.0 (we are not moving to 4.1 until it is proven stable)

The biggest change in this version is the removal of a dedicated wiki formatting mode.

This will likely irritate many people who have grown to know and love the wiki formatting module. We too loved this mode, but it’s being removed and never coming back, and we can’t fight it.

The new WYSIWYGish formatter is a step beyond the WYSIWYG modes you’re generally used to. So you should try it before you lambast it.

JIRA 4.4.4 Upgrade

JIRA will be upgraded to 4.4.4.

This prepares us for the imminent 5.0 upgrade and gives us an internal password change API that will mean that all systems use the same Codehaus password.

Xircles Occasional Flake Out Mode

Xircles has undergone an internal revamp (onto latest Rails).

Most user facing things should be working

Known Issues
- Some of the RSS actions don’t work
- Some layout and formatting issues
- Many Ajaxy things aren’t Ajax any more

New features
- switched from Redcloth (Textile) to Redcarpet (Markdown)
- not telling until they’re documented (or something like that!)

We’ve just deployed the new SSL certificates to codehaus03 (3 more servers to go over the next few days).

If you’re having issues with your Maven deployments – then it’s probably because the CA isn’t included in the base distribution.

Confluence upgrade to 3.2.1_01

Confluence will be upgraded to 3.2.1_01 to add new features and to bring the platform up to date (ready for support from Atlassian).

It is unlikely to take the full outage window; but we do like to be careful!

FishEye upgrade outage

FishEye will be upgraded to v2.2.

Immediately after the upgrade, there will be a full reindex of all repositories as per the upgrade requirements.

This will mean that many repositories are offline for a period of time – this can’t be easily helped with the limited infrastructure we have available.

We will monitor the scanning process and put any progress information on Twitter (http://twitter.com/codehaus)

JIRA is being upgraded to JIRA 4!

We have done a test upgrade on a cloud server (many thanks to Atlassian for helping us with this) and it looks like it should be a smooth upgrade.

Confluence will be upgraded to 3.0.1.

Thus there will be an outage on Confluence and Unity powered sites (e.g. anything that is talking to Confluence)

FishEye upgrade outage

UPDATE The upgrade succeeded with a few caveats that have been rectified. If you have issues with FishEye; let support know!

UPDATE The original upgrade failed; we are reattempting armed with extra information.

FishEye will be upgraded to v2.0.3.

This will mean a full reindex of all repositories which typically takes “a while”. It should be complete before the end of the weekend.

Please see the change log for more information.

We will be enabling Git support on this instance in the very near future.

There may be some teething issues…

Bamboo Maven upgraded to 2.0.10

This will be applied automatically to most builds.

Git is now officially supported at the Haus.

To have a repository created, simply raise a JIRA request and we’ll take care of the rest.

You can view the repositories at http://git.codehaus.org/

This means you can offer a canonical Git repository for your project (although nothing stops you from using Github to do your day to day work)
